First Moves Matter: Join Our Beginner Chess Club

We are excited to introduce our Beginner Chess Club, a completely free activity open to any young beginner who is curious about chess. No experience is needed — just interest and a willingness to try!

This is not a formal curriculum, but a relaxed and engaging space where children can explore the game, learn how the pieces move, and start playing in a supportive environment. The goal is simple: to cultivate interest and help children discover the fun of thinking ahead.

Chess encourages strategic thinking beyond daily academic work. As students begin to anticipate moves and solve small challenges on the board, they naturally develop focus, patience, and problem-solving skills — all while having fun.

The activity is led by Coach Jerry, a National Master with over 50 years of tournament experience. Jerry has helped hundreds of children develop a love for the game. Known for his patience and enthusiasm, Coach Jerry is passionate about introducing chess to young beginners in an encouraging and enjoyable way.
