A Spin of Fun: BHCS Students Head to a National Table Tennis Center

This week, our students are stepping out of the classroom and into an exciting, high-energy sports environment, 888 Table Tennis Center, for a special field trip experience.

For many, it was their first time inside a professional training facility and the energy in the room was unforgettable.

With rows upon rows of tables and players practicing at all levels, the center immediately gave students a glimpse into the world of real athletic training. But what made the experience truly meaningful wasn't just the setting, it was the way the sport was introduced.

Guided by professional coaches, including Maggie Tian, students were gently welcomed into the basics of table tennis. They learned how to hold the paddle, how to control the ball, and how to rally, which are skills that might seem simple at first but quickly turn into exciting challenges.

At first, there were a few missed hits and shy attempts. But before long, the room filled with cheers, focused faces, and proud smiles as students began to connect with the rhythm of the game. In that one hour, something shifted from “trying” to “enjoying.”

What stood out most wasn't perfect technique, but the joy of movement, the willingness to try, and the confidence that grew with every swing.
